Life's emotions in a nutshell

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that
wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You
will have your heart broken probably more than once and
it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so
remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight
with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things
an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast,
and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too
many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never
been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset
is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. Don't be
afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never
begin!

Jealous people

I want to pose a question on here to you all: why are people so fucking jealous of each other? I would love if anyone can explain this phenomenon to me.

Without getting into any details, I've noticed that people who I thought were "good" friends and trustworthy, seem to "change" when something good is happening in your life. You would think that when you have these supposed good friends and acquaintences around you, they would be ecstatic when something wonderful starts happening in your life. I've been proven wrong. I'm seriously beginning to believe that people as a whole are evil and don't wanna see you happy. Maybe it's because they are miserable in their own personal lives and want everyone around them to be miserable as well. But guess what: all those fucking losers who choose to feel this way can go and suck my left ass cheek cause I've lost all respect for them.

There are only a handful of people that want to see you happy. And to those few, I give my gratitude to them.

Piracy Orgy

Ahh, the marvels of technology. What were the great masters of technological advancement thinking when they decided to transform some of our most intimate tastes into digital format? Did they foresee this hidden evil lurking in the darkness trying desperately to break its chains of imprisonment hence allowing it to roam free into the very depths of social apathies and eventually leading to the evaporation of what was once called legitimacy and integrity? Of course not. Why? Because money is the root of all evil. There are only a handful of us that genuinely grasp this notion of greed. The mere fact that by revolutionizing the ease that one can transfer many different files by the easy passage of the internet has allowed the beast called “Attention Deficiency” to win the war over the individual named “Genuine Appreciation”.

Brief history: when my friend and neighbor (literally, he lived down the hallway from me) introduced me to Napster (when it was still new and free and hadn’t gotten busted by the law yet), I didn’t realize at the time, would change my way of acquiring music. Of course, that was only the start (downloading movies, TV series, porno, software, video games, etc) came later on. He called me up and told me to come over his apartment to show me a way of getting music for free off the internet. My first reaction was “Yeah right, what a bullshitter.” I was used to listening to a song I liked on the radio, finding out the title, who sang it, then scrounging up enough cash to go out and buy the single from my local music store. God forbid it was an older song that I wanted….I would then have to buy the WHOLE damn CD just for that one song! I still own some of these whole CD’s today which I will eventually chuck but have just been lazy to actually go through and determine if they are worth keeping. Amazingly enough, the guy was right. There it was, right in front of me…paradise! Somehow I could still hear the ringing of “Hallelujah” when I downloaded my first song.

Presently: “Shit, Kazaa sucks because it greatly slows down my computer with all the ad’s and banners and cookies and viruses and crap and shit and this and that!!” “Limewire is good but you can’t always find what you’re looking for – not as many users on there as I would like.” “But Bearshare is great! Plenty of users, easier to find crap, faster download speeds (especially since we all have broadband….if you still connect through dial-up then you’re a loser and need to keep up with the times). That’s what it has come down to: finding the best P2P software to download your stuff from. Our first reaction (well, most of us anyway) when wanting to get a song is to go directly to our friendly piracy-infected confines to find what we’re looking for.

Let’s think about this for a moment: should I get out of my computer desk chair (man, I love my executive type leather chair – it keeps my ass so warm and comfy), get dressed, grab some cash (assuming we have any on hand), warm up my car (I feel sorry for those of you who don’t drive), putting our lives at a slight risk to take a drive to the store (for those of you who don’t know this factoid: driving fatalities have gone up in the United States), to spend $3.99 for a single or up to as much as $13.99 for the whole album? Hmm, sounds like a lot of work considering you can get the song for free just by the touch of your fingertips while sitting at home, nice and warm and safe.

Conclusion: are we horrible for pirating songs and movies and TV shows and video games and porno and software and anything else which is presented to us in digital format and easily available through legitimate websites? (yes, Bearshare, Limewire, Kazaa, etc are considered legitimate…only thing that may put them under the legal microscope is that their users are allowed to trade copyrighted material). Do we care that artists like Britney Spears and Metallica cry “Foul!” when they complain that illegal downloads of their music is causing them to lose money? Oh, I’m sorry Britney, you only made $35 million this year instead of $40 million. $5 million less for you to spend on your alcohol and drug infested party nights. Last I checked you were partying 8 nights a week you whore!! Who the fuck is caring for your kids while you go out and get trashed every single fucking night???

Sorry, got a little carried away there. Anyway, I think the choice is obvious. Most of us download illegally. It has become second nature to us. It's all just one big orgy of downloading stuff. The scary part is that we don’t even think of any repercussions. Do you know why? Because there aren’t any to think of. This country does not have the resources to chase every single little entity which illegally downloads a song off the net. So keep on downloading everyone! Let’s have fun with this as much as we can!
